A 19th century French fan, with gilt decorated amber coloured guards and sticks, the fan of black silk and muslin with applied gilt sequens, with panels of flowers and urns, with a central painted cartouche depicting the Montgolfier flight at Versaille, 19th September 1783, 49cm wide, later mounted in a glazed gilt display case.
