After Paul De Lamerie, a pair of William IV silver Chinoiserie tea caddies,

by Michael Starkey, London 1831,

in the Rococo manner, upright rectangular form, embossed and chased with figures picking tea leaves, and with lion masks, buildings, foliate scroll and shell decoration, the hinged covers with recumbent figural finials, on a scroll foot, height 15.4cm, approx. weight 23oz. (2)

Provenance: The property of a Noblewoman.

A pair of similar caddies by Paul de Lamerie, London 1751, are in the Jerome and Rita Gans Collection, The Virginia Museum of Fine art, object number 97.28.1.
