A set of four glass goblets dated 1977
A set of four glass goblets dated 1977, the cylindrical bowls engraved and stippled by Philip Lawson Johnston with a single African animal to one side, the reverse with a scene of the same animals in their natural habitat, including an elephant, a giraffe, a lion and a gazelle, each signed beneath the foot, 15cm. (4)
Philip Lawson Johnston is a self-taught hand-engraver from Oxford, who started his career in 1971, and in 2009 was granted the Royal Warrant as Hand-Engraver to Her Majesty the Queen.
