A Charles I cylindrical counter box, the pull-off cover with medallic bust of Charles I to left, the base with a bust of Queen Henrietta Maria, and containing a rare set of thirty three counters of the Kings & Queens of England, in imitation of engraving (by or after Simon van de Passe), each a standing figure with an armorial reverse, namely Edward the Confessor, William I, Harold, William I, William II, Henry I, Stephen, Henry II, Richard I, John, Henry III, Edward II, Edward III, Richard II, Henry IV, Edward IV, Edward V, Richard III, Henry VII, Henry VIII, Edward VI, Mary, Elizabeth, James I, Queen Anne of Denmark, Henry, Prince of Wales, Charles I, Henrietta Maria, Charles, Prince of Wales; together with Mary, Queen of Scots and Henry, Earl of Darnley. The set of counters believed to have been issued in 1632; the medal on the pierced box cover, and that on the base, in the style of Thomas Rawlins, the sides three panels each of two mythical beasts, 15/16th in (2.3cm) high, ???oz.
