20th Century Design

Dept Page All 3

Our department is at Unit 1B, Castle Gate Business Park, Old Sarum, Salisbury, SP4 6QX

Auctions are held at our main salerooms, 51-61 Castle Street, Salisbury, SP1 3SU

Woolley and Wallis are market leaders in 20th Century Design.

We hold four specialist auctions across the year: Clarice Cliff and Art Deco, Arts and Crafts, Design, and British Art Pottery. These themed sales cover ceramics, glass, metalware, works on paper, silver and textiles, from the Arts and Crafts movement to the present day.

In June 2014 we set a world record auction price for a piece of Martin Brothers pottery, beating the world record previously set by Woolley and Wallis in 2013. The department achieved a record sale total in December 2017 which included the prestigious sale of the studio pottery collection of Professor Luke Herrmann.

We have successfully auctioned the collections of Lord Parmoor, the BBC producer Verity Lambert, and more recently a private collection of Burmantofts Faience Pottery, where we equalled the world record auction price for a Burmantoft charger.
