A CHINESE PALE CELADON JADE WINE EWER AND COVER

18TH CENTURY

The tapering body with a hexagonal spout and handle, carved in shallow relief with two circular panels, one depicting two scholars standing beside a stream beneath a large fruiting peach tree, the other with a five phrase poem, the rim with a band of stiff leaves, the domed cover surmounted by a sinuous chilong, the base with a mark which reads xuan he, paper label for Sydney L. Moss Ltd., raised on a hardwood five-legged stand, 18.7cm. (2)
