A.R.R/Droit de Suite

Artist's Resale Right / Droit de Suite is a royalty payable to a qualifying artist or the artist's heirs each time a work is resold during the artist's lifetime or up to 70 years after the artist's death. Lots potentially subject to the levy are marked ϕ and are subject to a charge of 4% if they sell at or over the sterling equivalent of €1,000. Above this amount the levy reduces on a sliding scale as below.

4% Up to €50,000 
3% €50,000.01 - 200,000 
1% €200,000.01 - 350,000 
0.5% €350,000.01 - 500,000 
0.25% In excess of €500,000 
Up to a maximum levy of €10,000

Whilst every effort is made to note accurately which lots may be affected by this levy, the collecting agencies' lists of relevant artists are not exhaustive and buyers should note that an absence of ϕ symbol from a lot does not necessarily exclude it from the levy.

We will add the levy to the purchaser's invoice and we will pay the full amount to the relevant collecting agency.
