A P.E. Gane Ltd Bristol walnut veneer Modernist bureau book case, the design attributed to J P Hulley, with drop front, fitted bureau above drawer and geometric bookshelves applied retail label to the drawer 109cm. wide, 111cm high
Provenance
This Modernist bureau was linked to Marcel Breuer who stayed with Gane in Bristol before travelling to America. Although probably not designed by Breuer, more likely designed by the House designer J P Hulley, Breuer's influence on the firm of Gane was strong. It led to them producing a range of contemporary Modernist furniture.
