Edgar Kettle (1842-1877)
A rare stoneware jug
deeply carved with flower heads and trailing vine
incised 'Edgar Kettle Art Pottery Pentlow St Putney'
24cm high.
Catalogue Notes:
As well as working for C.J.C Bailey at the Fulham Pottery during the 1870s, Kettle is known to have made ceramics at his home in Putney where he set up a small kiln in the garden. This jug is one of the few surviving examples from the period.
