The Portex chair, designed by Peter Hvidt and Orla Mølgaard-Nielsen in 1944–1945, is a landmark of early Danish Modernism. Produced by Fritz Hansen, it was specifically engineered for post-war global export - its name being an anagram for "export". The Portex was the first stackable chair designed in Denmark.
