Eleanor Doris Varley
Varley was born in Willesden, London on 26th October 1902, the daughter of Illingworth Varley (the artist and teacher) and his wife Eleanor (nee Pack). She grew up living at Knoll Lodge Malvern Wells where she was educated at Lawnside, Great Malvern and before studying at Willesden and Regent Street Polytechnic Schools of Art. moving to East Anglia and the north of England where she had several teaching positions and where she was a member and exhibitor at the Norfolk and Norwich Art Circle (1946-1953).
