'Mrs Crabbe as Cleopatra' a rare Mintons portrait plaque by J D Rochfort after a design by Frederick Sandys dated 1877, painted holding up an asp, the rim with swallows and blossom sprays, in colours on a cream ground painted marks and inscription to the reverse, signed to the front dated 39cm. diam. Sold with a Frederick Sandys monograph by Betty Elzea. Provenance Frederick Sandys & The Pre Raphaelites 2001-2002, Norwich Castle Museum & Art Gallery, this plaque exhibited.
