A bronze medal from the Exposition Universelle Internationale, Paris 1900, designed by Jules-Clement Chaplain, awarded to Walter Gilbert, the capped head of Marianne to right, an oak tree behind providing the wreath, the reverse a winged fame flies to left, named on tabled W Gilbert, in presentation case, stamped Bronze to rim 6.5cm. diam. The Paris Exposition 1900 was where the Bromsgrove Guild had its first major success in exhibiting its work.
