A Martin Brothers stoneware bird jar and cover designed by Robert Wallace Martin, the bird with piercing staring eyes, his wings tucked back, his clawed feet on domed ceramic base, glazed in shades of green and ochre on later carved wooden base incised R W Martin & Bros Southall to collar and base, firing cracks and faults 23cm. high
