A large Martin Brothers stoneware vase baluster form, incised with panels of goat masks and crossed musical instruments, inside scrolling foliage, in shades of brown on a buff ground incised 1-1896, Martin Brothers London & Southall, 34cm. high Provenance An identical vase was sold at Sotheby's January 20th 1922, lot 93 The Crittall Collection of Martin Ware. It is illustrated in the Nettlefold catalogue plates 48 and 49.
