An English drum chair designed by Cecil Beaton, probably made by Savages, unsigned 91cm. high Cecil Beaton designed his bedroom at Ashcombe House, Wiltshire on a circus theme with a bed on the theme of a roundabout, made by Savages of Kings Lynn. The drum chairs are believed to have been included in the bedroom at Ashcombe. Literature: The Chair, Christies King Street, 11th May 1999 lot 107 for a comparable example.
