A COLLECTION OF SOUTH AFRICAN ARTEFACTS
including a Shona headrest, 14.5cm high, a Zulu dance staff, with brass wirework, 41cm long, a Tanzania antelope head dance staff finial, 16.5cm high, two Sotho snuff containers, with brass wirework, 11cm and 13cm long, a Zulu snuff horn, with a wood cap, 19.5cm long, a Zulu pipe, 23.5cm long, a Zulu spoon, 30.5cm long, a Zulu bead neck ornament, 26cm long, another on a wood cylinder, three brass ankle rings, 6cm and 7cm diameter, a string of white glass beads, a pair of clogs, with a leather strap, 33.5cm long, and four Zulu staffs, two with head finials, and one relief carved a snake and two lizards, the longest 96.5cm. (20)

With six labels with identification inscriptions and five stamped REV FR LAURENCE S.D.C. ... 10 OCT 1931.
Rev Hugh Cecil Thompson and his wife (Hazel Duckles), working in South Africa and returning to the UK in circa 1928, and thence by descent.
