brass, the seated male figure with column type headdress, with a curved spur with mask terminal, the shaft with another seated male figure and nineteen heads, on an iron rod with a pointed tip, 19th century,

148cm high.

Provenance

Sir Donald Cameron.

Sold with a hand written note stating Ceremonial Staff, formerly belonged to the Onis of Ife, Given in 1921 to Sir Donald Cameron by the Oni. The only other known belongs to Sir Hugh Clifford.......Jan 1925, on blind stamped note paper from the Colonial Office and National Scheme for Disabled Men.
