19TH CENTURY

One gourd-shaped and carved with insects perched amongst trailing fruiting gourd vines, another decorated with a scene of beauties and gentlemen in a garden by pavilions, the largest stained with pigment and deeply carved with figures in a river landscape, the base with a four character Qianlong mark, one with scholars engaged in various activities amidst bamboo and willow, the fifth decorated with sages and their attendants amidst many blossoming flowers, 11.5cm max. (5)

Provenance: from an English private collection, West Yorkshire, formed in the 1970s and 1980s.
