A CHINESE BLACK-GROUND EMBROIDERED SILK ROBE
LATE QING DYNASTY
Decorated with sprays of many blossoming flowers including peony, lotus, orchid, prunus, magnolia and hibiscus, some of the blooms contained in vessels picked out in Peking knot, with butterflies in flight amongst blue flowers to the hems, the sleeves embroidered with scenes of figures in gardens on cream silk, 130cm across, 110cm long.
