This November, we are delighted to present a massive and exceptionally rare Chinese Imperial ‘Chuxiugong’ dish, dating to circa 1889, from the collection of Wing Lung Goo (1896–1964) and thence by descent. It is the only known example of this type with a yellow-glazed base.
Further highlights include a pair of Chinese Imperial blue and white ‘nine dragon’ vases, bearing six-character Jiaqing marks and dating to the period, formerly in the collection of Sir Richard Henry Chenevix Trench (1876–1954); and an exceptionally rare Chinese Imperial two-bladed concealed sword dating to the Qianlong period.
