A CHINESE BRONZE ARCHAISTIC HU-SHAPED VASE
SONG/YUAN DYNASTY

The body raised on a splayed foot and the neck flanked by a pair of tubular handles, decorated with bands of leiwen, stylised chilong, taotie and geometric patterns, the base with three characters reading xian shiyi, with a paper label for the Finer Collection 'CB 119', 1.3kg, 26cm.

Provenance: previously Sydney L Moss, London, then purchased from Sotheby’s New York, Paul Freeman Collection, 21st March 2015, lot 713.
