The compressed globular body supported on a short foot rising to a flared rim, flanked by two stylised halberd-form handles, with a six-character Xuande mark to the base, with a paper label for the Finer Collection 'CB 34', 844g, 7.5cm.

The halberd-shaped handle, as seen on the lot offered here, derives its shape from ancient Chinese polearms, specifically the ji (a type of halberd combining spear and dagger-axe features) and the ge (dagger-axe).
