Of oval form, the cover pierced with concentric circles and geometric panels containing floral and diaper designs, with a two-character mark to the base reading Feng Jiang, with a paper label for the Finer Collection 'HW 8', 375g, 10cm. (2)

After Zhang Mingqi, Wang Feng Jiang is the most notable hand warmer maker from the late Ming dynasty. See Sydney L Moss Ltd, The Second Bronze Age: Later Chinese Metalwork, no.76 and Jin Yingyuan & Zhang Zhengwang, Zhongguo minjian shoulu jianshang, p.19 for examples of handwarmers by Feng Jiang dated to the late Ming dynasty.
