A Chinese porcelain Dutch-decorated cream jug and cover and two coffee cups 1st half 18th century, the jug originally decorated with four flower mons in underglaze blue, the cups with a wide anhua band between narrow hatched borders, later-enamelled in red, green and gilt with baskets of flowers, the cups with small panels of a fisherman, on a ground of scrolling leaves against gilt, 13.2cm max. (4)
Provenance: the Helen Espir Collection, nos. 827 and 672.
The original decoration on the jug in particular has been cleverly adapted by the Dutch decorator to place a flower mon in the centre of the basket and two in the middle of red leaf panels.
