A Chinese porcelain Dutch-decorated tea canister c.1720-35, originally with moulded decoration between narrow cash diaper bands in underglaze blue, enamelled in Holland in the Kakiemon palette with four colourful parrots perched on flowering branches, the shoulder with further sprays, and a miniature teabowl and saucer similarly decorated with parrots on stems of red rosebuds, the canister with a 1920s French silver cover for a toilet pot, 11cm max. (4)

Provenance: the Helen Espir Collection, nos. 341 and 774.

The decoration on these objects is thought to be relatively close to the period of manufacture, dating to around 1725-35.
