A pair of Chinese porcelain Dutch-decorated bottle vases or guglets Kangxi 1662-1722, with original underglaze blue decoration of formally arranged flowering sprays on a lightly ribbed ground, the swollen necks with further flowers, over-decorated with birds perched on stems of millet issuing from banded hedges, and with red, green and gilt additions to the existing design, iron red pseudo character marks to the bases, 23.6cm. The enamelling on these vases combines aspects of Kakiemon and famille verte designs.
