A good Chinese porcelain Dutch-decorated teabowl and saucer 1st half 18th century, the finely potted bodies originally lightly incised with trailing flower sprays, later-enamelled with flying insects above an effusion of flowers issuing from a campana-shaped vase, the rim with formal flower scrolls, 13.4cm. (2)

While the overall composition of the decoration is very much European in taste, the addition of a large central pink peony provides a Chinese flavour and a distinct nod to the famille rose influence.
