A Chinese porcelain English-decorated teapot and cover mid 18th century, originally painted in underglaze blue with small buildings in a mountain landscape, later-enamelled with a figure in a red coat brandishing a sword, two figures in a boat nearby, and a barrel resting on deep grass, the existing decoration heightened with polychrome enamels and with the addition of tall signal towers or sentry boxes beneath purple clouds, 18cm.
