A blanc de Chine English-decorated figure of Doumu 1st half 18th century, the goddess seated on a tall lotus flower with three attendants beneath, holding various tools and attributes in her many arms, later-enamelled probably in London c.1750 with Kakiemon-style birds and flowers to her dress, the attendants and a sinuous dragon in monochrome turquoise, green and purple glazes, 24.5cm. (2)

Provenance: the Helen Espir Collection, no. 957. Purchased from Christie's, 18th July 2012, lot 619. Previously in the Watney Collection.
