A massive Chinese red cinnabar lacquer dish  late Qing dynasty, carved in relief with a panorama of the Summer Palace, Beijing, with three small boats containing figures before the marble barge, the Fo Xiang Ge pagoda in the distance, the reverse lacquered black with a gilt metal foot, 64cm.

This dish was purchased in 1909, shortly after it was made. Another example is known in the Imperial Palace Museum, Beijing. The whereabouts of the other three made is unknown.
