A PAIR OF CHINESE LACQUERED AND GILT-WOOD 'BAXIAN' LAMPS

LATE QING DYNASTY

Each surmounted by a medallion enclosing four figures, together forming the Eight Immortals with their attributes, the scenes set against shards of mother of pearl and framed by carved dragons and bats, with further openwork decoration of phoenix and pairs of birds amidst prunus adorning the posts, all supported on tall feet shaped as sinuous archaistic dragons, 205cm.
