A TIBETAN BRONZE SCULPTURE OF PADMAPANI

17TH/18TH CENTURY

Standing on a semi-circular lotus throne in tribhanga asana, the bodhisattva of compassion wearing a diaphanous dhoti and adorned with jewellery, his left hand exhibits vitarka mudra and holds the stem of a lotus flower which blossoms at his shoulder, his right hand lowered in varada mudra, 12.4cm, 296g.
