A Chinese blue and white cylindrical jar 17th century, painted with a panel to each side, one depicting a scholar reading beneath a gnarled branch, the other a gentleman with attendants, one with a canopy, another a teapot, all on a cracked-ice ground with large peony blossoms, 27cm.

Provenance: from the collection of Brodie and Enid Lodge of Flore House, Northamptonshire, and thence by descent.
