A massive Chinese celadon glazed vase 18th/19th century, the globular body painted to each side with a shaped panel in underglaze blue, depicting extensive mountainous landscapes with small figures, incised with a key fret ground and shou characters, a band of stiff leaves to the neck, the handles moulded as large curling leaves, paper collection label, a carved hardwood stand, 71.4cm. (2)

Provenance: from the collection of Brodie and Enid Lodge of Flore House, Northamptonshire, and thence by descent. Formerly the collection of Sir John Wormald, purchased from the Springs sale on the 22nd September 1933 for five guineas.
