A rare Chinese blue and white stem bowl Jiajing 1522-66, painted with scholars and attendants in gardens amidst pine, playing board games and conversing, the body raised on a high foot painted with rockwork and clouds, paper collection label, together with a fitted hardwood stand, 10.5cm. (2)

Provenance: from the collection of Brodie and Enid Lodge of Flore House, Northamptonshire, and thence by descent. Purchased from Bluett's on the 10th November 1938 for £6.
