Along with fine Chinese porcelain, our November sale will include an impressive pair of cloisonné cockerels and a wucai cup, a rare example where the Kangxi mark corresponds with the production period. It is painted with a scene from a famous poem by Su Shi (1037-1101) from the Chibi fu ('Ode to the Red Cliff').
The dynamic struggle between a tiger and a dragon depicted on the elegant vase from the Qianlong period is an ancient symbol of balance between Yin and Yang energy, ensuring harmony of feng shui.
