A Chinese red leather and gilt-decorated chest late 19th century

A Chinese red leather and gilt-decorated chest late 19th century, the front in relief with panels of dragons, phoenix, butterflies and other motifs, the sides with brass carrying handles and with shou and bat motifs, together with an original canvas covering, inscribed paper label to the interior, 80cm x 56cm. Provenance: the Reverend Victor Farmer collection, 1898-1977.
