A large and fine Chinese blue ground woven silk panel mid-19th century, constructed in three parts, brightly decorated with a large central spiky flowerhead, and with six smaller growing from scrolling foliage, with bats hidden amidst the leaves, all within formal border designs of complex key fret, further flowers and foliage, the pattern in bright red, pink, and shades of green and gold, 335cm x185cm. Provenance: the Reverend Victor Farmer collection, 1898-1977.
