A rare set of eight Chinese paintings on paper Qianlong/Jiaqing

£4,000 - £6,000 £8,500

A rare set of eight Chinese paintings on paper Qianlong/Jiaqing, each finely painted with Yixing and junyao jardinières planted with displays of flowers, leaves and other plants growing from rockwork, framed and glazed, 37cm x 53cm. (8) Cf. Yixing Zisha Wares in the Palace Museum, pp.264-279 where related Imperial Yixing jardinières are illustrated. It is possible that these paintings once formed an album from which the artisans and Imperial workshops could take their inspiration.
