A CHINESE BRONZE RITUAL BELL, GHANTA

QING DYNASTY

Cast with Sanskrit characters enclosed in lappets, a band of stylised masks with fringes to the shoulder and a band of vajras around the rim, the inside of the bell cast with an inscription and with an iron clapper, the handle formed as a ring with a mask surmounted by a four-pronged half-vajra, 19cm.
