A CHINESE BRONZE LION DOG INCENSE BURNER

17TH CENTURY

With his left paw on a brocade ball entangled in a ribbon, his hinged head turned to the side and bearing his fangs, together with a Japanese tripod incense burner and cover with a kirin finial, 38.5cm. (3)

Provenance: the lion dog from an English private collection, purchased from Sotheby's, 21st July 1969, lot 79.
