A LARGE JAPANESE CLOISONNE ENAMEL VASE

MEIJI 1868-1912

The bulbous body decorated on one side with three egrets amongst reeds on a robin's egg ground, the

other side with a single bird, the base signed Nagoya Hattori, 33cm.

This design was possibly made after a print by Ohara Koson (1877-1945) who produced many comparable depictions of egrets in tall grasses.
