A LARGE SOUTH EAST ASIAN BRONZE MODEL OF A LION

19TH CENTURY OR EARLIER

Probably Burmese, standing four-square with a long tail curved upwards and a mane, a pronounced snout and clawed feet, with a chequer panel to his back, supported on a rectangular base with reticulated sides decorated with scrolling foliage. Together with a photograph of a group of men signed 'The Folly' Rangoon 25th Dec 1890, 38cm. (2)
