The sale features many other high-quality works of art including ceramics, bronzes, jades, paintings, and others. Highlights of the sales will be displayed at our Mayfair office in late October. Please contact the department for more information.

Highlights from the sale include lot 98, an important gilded copper gem-inset figure of Mahasri Tara, c.12th Century Bihar, Eastern India, from the collection of Norman Blount (1875-1930), who was a jute broker, as well as the joint secretary (with the artist Abanindranath Tagore) of the Indian Society of Oriental Art, which was founded in 1907 in Calcutta, with Lord Kitchener the Society’s President.

Lot 176, a massive and rare Imperial blue and white 'double phoenix' meiping, six character Wanli mark and of the period, 1573-1620, from the collection of Mrs Millicent Fenwick.
