A massive Yixing imitation jun-glazed tray 2nd half 18th century, the large oval form decorated in a speckled glaze grading from pale turquoise through to reddish purple, the base with an impressed mark for Ge Mingxiang, 67cm. Provenance: from the collection of Peter and Susan Wain. Cf. K S Lo, The Stonewares of Yixing from the Ming Period to the Present Day, p.144 for a related flower pot with a similar glaze.
