An Yixing ou ware cong or scholar's vase probably 18th century, moulded with the eight trigrams beneath a mottled cream and lilac glaze of jun type, 19.5cm. Ou wares are usually attributed to the potter Ou Ziming. Provenance: from the collection of Peter and Susan Wain. Cf. Yixing Zisha Wares in the Palace Museum, no.184 for a related example.
