THREE CHINESE POTTERY VESSELS

HAN DYNASTY 206BC - 220AD

Comprising a small oval wine cup with elongated handles, a bottle vase incised with concentric bands and a tripod incense burner, the conical cover with a flattened chevron top, moulded to the sides with mock loose-ring handles and many creatures, all decorated with green glazes, paper collection labels, 19.5cm max. (4)

Provenance: from the collection of Helen Espir, nos.140, 249 and 297. The former two purchased in Hong Kong 14th April 1987 and 13th October 1992, the latter from Sotheby's, London, 2nd February 1994, lot 15. Purchased from William Clayton Ltd., Bury Street, London in 1961.

Exhibited: the wine cup was included by The Oriental Ceramic Society in their exhibition The World in Monochromes, 2009, no.4.
