The kendi painted with birds perched on rocks, below a ruyi-head and prunus sprig border, the jar probably later decorated with two scaly dragons chasing a flaming pearl, with a Jiajing mark to the base, 19.2cm and 12cm. (2)
Provenance: from the collection of Dr Jonathan Mirsky (1932-2021). Dr Mirsky was an American journalist and historian of China.
