A QAJAR IZNIK-STYLE POTTERY DISH
C.1897
Decorated with a symmetrical design of rosettes, lotus and saz leaves, enclosed by a stylised wave and rock border, the underside with further flowerheads, 35cm.
This dish was commissioned by the London dealer Wright and Handsford on behalf of the V&A in 1897 for study purposes, other examples of this design are in the National Museum of Scotland and the British Museum.
